TRAVEL

My dad was a pilot, so from a young age I had the privilege of travelling the world with my family. We travelled to Singapore, Japan, China, England, Wales, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands together. We road tripped around the country and I have visited every state but 4. I’ve had the opportunity to hike and camp in nearly all of the National Parks this great country has. In high school, I spent a summer abroad in the Dominican Republic where I taught English and home-stayed with a local family in a small village. The following summer, I taught English in China. In college, I studied abroad in Budapest, Hungary for a semester where I had the opportunity to make side trips to Prague, Vienna, Spain, France, Italy, and Greece. Since 2015, my boyfriend and I have travelled the world and country together while working full-time. We’ve found ways to maximize our PTO days and income to experience the world without draining our bank accounts.

Because of these experiences and my parents’ encouragement to explore the world and other cultures, I want to encourage others to see the world too. I truly believe that travel helps us realize that we are all more alike than different. And there are ways to travel without spending a lot of money. When I travel, I look for experiences that truly immerse me in the culture and environment. I look at each trip as a experiential learning project. I love every aspect of a trip from creating itineraries, to the trip itself, to returning home with a new lense and view of the world.
